Seventy years, one family
From a pick, a shovel and a streetcar pass in 1956 to a fleet serving Qualicum Beach and communities across Western Canada — here is how Milani got here.
1928A start far from home
A thirteen-year-old Dimitrio Milani arrives in Vancouver from Italy, on his own, working whatever jobs he can find to send money back to his family.
1956Milani Drainage is founded
Demetrio — known to everyone as "the Chief" — and his wife Linda go into the drainage business with a pick, a shovel and a canvas bag, riding the streetcars from job to job.
1986The second generation takes over
Vern Milani, who had worked alongside his father since he was a boy, buys the company and begins building the fleet out across the Lower Mainland.
1990sThe name we carry today
As the work grows from drainage into full plumbing and heating service, the business becomes Milani Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.
