The DC9VS reaches up to 19 SEER2 and is available in 2, 3, 4 and 5-ton capacities. The Daikin FIT side-discharge cabinet has a much smaller footprint than a conventional condenser, so it fits tight side yards and zero-lot-line homes.

Variable-speed inverter compressor
A Daikin variable-speed swing compressor with inverter control adjusts its speed in real time to balance indoor comfort and system efficiency. A field-selectable boost mode raises compressor speed during unusually high loads, and a high-density compressor sound blanket plus a quiet digitally commutated fan motor keep the unit unobtrusive.
How a central air conditioner works
When the weather warms up, a central air conditioner uses electricity and the refrigeration cycle to move heat from inside the house to the outside. Warm indoor air passes over a cold evaporator coil and loses its heat; the blower motor then circulates that cooled air back through the ductwork into every room.
Systems differ in efficiency, technology, size and noise level — and all of those affect both day-to-day comfort and what the system costs to run over its life.
R-32 refrigerant
Daikin's air conditioners run on R-32, a single-component refrigerant with a lower global warming potential than the blends it replaces. R-32 also transfers heat efficiently, so the system moves more heat with less refrigerant. It has been used in more than 130 countries for over a decade.

Daikin's communicating thermostats send and receive information from the outdoor unit, so the system can be monitored and adjusted remotely and can flag a problem early.

Cleaner air, if you want it
The optional Daikin One Premium Air Cleaner replaces a standard one-inch filter with a deep-pleated media filter that has far more surface area, helping remove dust and other airborne particulates as air moves through the system.
Built-in diagnostics
Daikin Inside intelligence and Daikin control algorithmic logic monitor the system continuously. Diagnostic indicator lights, a seven-segment LED display and fault-code storage make service calls faster. In communicating mode only two low-voltage wires run to the outdoor unit.
12-year limited warranty
With online registration completed within 60 days of installation, the DC9VS carries a 12-year parts limited warranty and a 12-year unit-replacement limited warranty. Milani completes the registration as part of the install and keeps the documentation on file.
