H2 ZERO Scale Media
The H2 ZERO Scale Media system splits filtration and conditioning across two tanks. The first holds High Activity Carbon for chlorine, taste and odour; the second holds either the HALO ION conditioner or HALO's proprietary salt-free scale media, depending on the water and the budget.
Carbon first, conditioning second
Tank one uses HAC carbon that meets NSF/ANSI Standard 61 and food-grade chemical standards to strip free chlorine and clean up taste and odour. Tank two either runs the HALO ION magnetic conditioner or a bed of salt-free scale-control media — both keep calcium and magnesium from bonding into limescale, and neither needs salt or a drain.
Like the rest of the H2 ZERO line, it is fully passive: no electricity, no backwash cycle, no wastewater.
Choosing the second tank
HALO ION carries the longer 10-year warranty and dissolves existing scale over time; the scale media option is lower cost with a 5-year warranty. Milani recommends one based on your hardness and how much existing scale is in the system.
