For 10 years, Italian Day has lived up to its standards of being Vancouver’s largest cultural street festival. They successfully transformed Commercial Drive into a lively 14 block festival with over 300,000 people attending. In addition, over 120 street participants which include partners, vendors, and community organizations created an amazing atmosphere over the weekend. Milani Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning is proud to be a part of bringing the massive Italian Day event celebration alive!
On June 9th, Commercial Drive became all white, green and red, embracing the party with piazza-style animated zones, live music, food vendors, patios, lifestyle attractions, family fun activities and a lot more. Attendants had the chance to eat mouth-watering pizza, cannoli, meatballs, and many other typical Italian themed foods and beverages.
Every year the festival gives away fabulous prizes in a raffle that total close to $10,000. Milani also gave away multiple prizes: an Italian themed gift box from the gourmet warehouse valued at $200 for 1st place, 500 Air Miles for 2nd place and 250 Air Miles for 3rd place.
Additionally, the Italian Day Festival Society has for several years supported at-risk youth by way of annual donations to film and theatre programs at Templeton Secondary in East Vancouver. This year, Italian Day sought to raise $20,000 to donate to two youth programs at the school via the aid of our Italian day sponsors and community support. Milani happily donated $500 to the cause.
